From intermittent contact with the early dummies, it was a joy to hold and caress the final book.
I can only applaud Ernesto for wearing his heart on his sleeve, and having the courage and belief to self-publish a work that not only displays his consummate skill with his craft but also shows in a personal way the man behind the book. It is refreshing to find someone still prepared to buck the trend – to follow their path - and produce a jewel. If you don’t yet own a copy – you should. There you will find a book – in fact more a diary – of his life experience in Cuba – presented with compassion yet fueled with passion, full of life and vitality – the life that Ernesto lead during his years in Cuba and he so warmly shares with us.

Non ho parole Ernesto! Ieri sera ho sfogliato le prime pagine poi mi e' presa una paura, una di qualle paure che provavo da bambino quando non volevo che un momento di gioco divertente o che un dolce buonissimo finisse troppo in fretta. Ho fatto come allora, mi sono fermato ed ho riguardato le stesse immagini piu' volte con la paura di vederle tutte, che quella piacevole emozione finisse troppo in fretta.
Sono piu' o meno a meta' e le emozioni delle tue immagini e dei tuoi testi mi hanno gia' colpito profondamente. Non so perche' ma le cose che dici e le immagini che scatti mi vanno dritte al cuore. E' qualche cosa di inspiegabile. Guardo in continuazione immagini e racconti fotografici ma raramente mi emoziono cosi. Le tue fotografie non sono mai banali. Hai fatto un lavoro meraviglioso.
Oggi non vedo lora di finire di lavorare per nutrire il mio corpo, abbracciare la mia bambina e aspettare che si addormenti per ricominciare a sfogliare il libro da dove sono rimasto e nutrire cosi anche la mia mente e la mia fantasia.

Ernesto I'm speechless! Yesterday as I was leafing through the first pages of the book I got scared, one of those fears that I used to feel as a child when I didn't want an amusing game or a delicious cake to end too soon.
I did exactly what I did then, I stopped and looked at the same images over and over with the fear that by looking at all the photographs this pleasurable sensation would end too early.
I'm half way through the book and the emotions in your images and text have made a profound impact on me. I do not know why, but the things that you say and the images you take go straight to my heart. It's something unexplainable. I constantly look at photographs and visual stories, but very rarely I get moved in such a way.
Your photographs are never banal. You made a wonderful job.
Today I can't wait to finish working to feed my soul, to hug my daughter and wait for her to fall asleep to start leafing though the book where I left off so that I can also feed my mind and imagination.

Ernesto me he quedado sin palabras! Ayer mientras estaba ojeando las primeras paginas del libro me asusté, unos de aquellos miedos que solía sentir de niño cuando no quería que un juego divertido o un delicioso pastel se acabaran demasiado temprano. Hice exactamente lo que solía hacer en aquel entonces, paré y seguí mirando las mismas fotografías una y otra vez por el miedo que mirando todas las imágenes esta sensación de placer se acabara demasiado pronto.
Ahora estoy en la mitad del libro y las emociones en tus fotografías y texto me han impactado profundamente. No se porque pero las cosas que dices y las imágenes se van directamente al corazón. Es algo que no puedo explicar. Constante miro fotografías y cuentos visuales pero raramente me siento conmovido de tal manera.
Tus fotografías nunca son banales. Hiciste un trabajo estupendo.
Hoy no veo la hora de terminar de trabajar para nutrir mi alma, para abrazar a mi hijita y esperar que se duerma para poder empezar a ojear el libro de donde lo dejé, para poder nutrir también mi mente y mi imaginación.
